Got out early this morning with the intent of harassing the stripers, during the last of the flood tide. I guess it may have been the north wind, but old Mother Nature stuck out her hand & stopped the flow of the flood tide about an hour before expected, total for my effort was two dropped fish, time for plan B, went looking for Sea Bass. Finally got on some old numbers & had constant action from the first drop. Threw back countless fish, many at about 16" before a 3 fish limit, well over 16 1/2" was filled. Have to admit not easy throwing back those fat beautiful 16" fish but managed three solid knotheads

I threw back half a dozen fat 16” beautiful knotheads on Saturday and didn’t get a single keeper so Im quite jealous 😎

Nice work, John! Gives me hope that I might finally be able to find enough keeper Sea Bass to satisfy this coming Saturday's charter.

No doubt a north wind and flood tide at the Gut can be problematic when fishing solo.
