Thinking about getting a new car for the bride, has anyone used the Costco Auto Buying Program?

You go to their website, fill out the info including what brand you are looking at & they send you to a dealer that Costco is hooked up with, & a salesman that is familiar with the Costco program. They CLAIM that their is a built in Costco price with no haggling, & a discount on parts & service. Spoke to a person who did it & they said it was a stress free way to make the deal.

Looking at the Nissan Rogue or the Rogue Sport., guess I'll start the process& see how it works. I hate walking out of a dealer thinking someone got a better dear just because he is a better B/S artist that me, although I tend to believe that the real haggling days are long gone.

Will do. Finding out through you tube that once you start the Costco deal, that's the number & you most likely wont get a better price because the Costco discount is already in the number, & the dealer has to pay Costco a referral fee. The dealer will try & make up the discount by selling, warranty, & all the other add on crap.

Sam's Club does it too and I got "their price" from one dealer, and a better price from another dealer...

Thanks MOJO, got all the specs for the Rogue & the Sport, just going to have my 5' small bride drive both & see which is best for her. Inventory is pretty low in this area & we may wait for the 21's to get one with all the toys.

My brother used costco 5 years ago for a murano. He went to costco dealer and got their price, then went to a local dealer who claims they match and beat prices. Had him there for about 2 hours after agreeing to match price, a different manager cancelled the deal claiming its below their cost. So went back and bought it through costco dealer

The old "I have to talk to my Mgr. trick". Don't like dealing with these guys, if we decide to move forward I'll just do it through Costco & be done with it. Had an old friend who said you should walk into the dealer, punch the salesman in the nose & say OK now we even, lets deal.

Looks as though I'm not going to find out if The Costco Auto Buying Program is a good deal or not. I just filled out the info on line from the Costco web site, & their authorized Nissan dealer is over 60 miles from where we live. I could stand at the front door of the local Costco, which is about 5 miles from the house, throw a softball & hit the Nissan dealer.

John-
I had a similar situation with a program thru work
I think it was TruCar or something like that.
I filled out a form on-line and next thing you know I'm getting contacted by all sorts of dealers "up island", in the city, and even NJ. It ended up being more trouble than it was worth.
I would have even gone to patchogue but nothing was even that close
