The female contingent here is glued to the Olympics every night. I've never been a big fan of the summer games, but do enjoy the winter one. Regardless it just strikes me that the hoopla and hype for this set of summer games is just off the charts, along with the requisite jingoism. Not sure if the 1 year COVID delay helped fuel this extra hype, but very sure that the 1 year delay in $$$ for NBC and the IOC, has made "selling" the games far more important.
The pressure that the US press has put on our athletes is just nuts. A person who won their event FIVE years ago, but has lost in the most recent world competitions is still expected to bring home the gold from the Olympics, and when the result is the same as the most recent world event, it's claimed that it was an UPSET???? SMFH.
There is a good thing in all this, because I don't want to watch this, I'm allowed to go to bed early so I can drag my azz out of bed @ 03:30 to participated in a very early striped bass bite. Normally I'd be chided for this, but if I were to stay up and watch the Olympics, The Admiral and our Daughter know I would be making fun of the chit show and they'd rather let me sleep than listen to me.
So what are your thoughts???
OK, who's "Olympics Fatigued"?

Turning their back to the USA ?? National Anthem is deplorable…ladies soccer team kneeling, ( GTFOOH )… cellfish…
.
you have the luxury of not being in an oppressed class ...looks a lot more peaceful and respectful than the 1/6/21 chit show
kneeling in church is respectful and there is no rule to stand for the NA....all the fat pigs at home run for a beer when the NA is played and then point fingers.....lets eliminate the reason for the protests

Yeah, star athletes and millionaires. Wish someone would oppress me that way.

In the 60s we had MLK (total pacifist protest) and we had Malcolm X (Peaceful but also in ur face) and we had the BLACK PANTHERS (totally militant. Yet the public and the law enforcement had a problem with all 3. LIKE...How dare they protest!!!!!

So the folks who scream "Cancel Culture" several times a day, support the cancellation of Kaepernick's career, and won't watch american athletes compete on the world stage because they oppose their political beliefs?
Nope
They can belive as they wish
They can protest as they wish
It’s their right
it’s my right not to watch or support them
Do it
pretty simple

The National Felons League should have understood and explained to him that we're here to play football. You do your political $#it on your own time and don't involve us. Otherwise the only way you get into a stadium is to buy a ticket. It's a stupid move on anybody in the public arena's part to get political, but at least the ones who do it to their own individual reputation don' t drag an entire organization down with them. But to be fair, the NFL made their own decisions. Probably mostly out of fear, certainly not out of principle, to go into the ratings cr@pper.
As for the Olympic athletes, they're just roaring hypocrites. If you respect the country so little that you'll literally turn your back on it why are you there representing it? Could it be for all the benefits that they get from that? Hmmmm...?
