Got an early start this morning & headed to the Race, for the last of the ebb current. Deep water, swift currents, & a rip that can stand up makes the place pure evil at times. Fishing a three way rig sent a bucktail to the bottom over 100' down, i see fish on the screen but no takers. Bird life starts & fish begin to break the surface, I switched to a 6' casting rod with a small pencil popper & it was game on. Ended the tide with 7 bass, kept one of the two bass in the slot, & the rest were overs. Managed not to drift into the rip & had an enjoyable morning.

Fantastic way to catch fish. Leave the heavy lifting for another day!

Very nice, John! I am so focused on my bucktailing when I fish for Bass that I rarely consider the top water option. Judging by your results I think I need to broaden my horizons!
