BBQ Issue

So I have a 6 burner, CharBroil BBQ. I went to light it and the ignition doesn't click when pressed in. I looked it up online and did the recommendations. Clean the electrode with alcohol and cotton swap, changed out the battery, and also checked the wires. Everything seems to be intact and its only about 3-4 months old. Any ideas?

Touch it and push the button see if you get shocked You can always use a lighter to start it

I have a 3 burner Charbroil I got at an end of season sale at Loews (3?) years ago or was it as many as 5 ? On sale for under $70, with my mil discount** I paid $57. including tax**. Some wag on a shooting website said I should have bought two LOL ! Two years ago I realized those transfer conduits were no longer lighting up the burner next to the main. (My push button thingy died in its third year, although it occasionally still works.) Curious, I contacted Charbroil online and found that the burners were under a warranty. I ordered three new ones but had to pay for the transfer conduits, one of which is already acting squirrely. Less than $20. bucks and it was like new again (except for the push button lighter thingy. Ace Hardware has those dollar sales on butane barbie lighters and I have three of them. From May to October I barbecue at least three times a week, and twice a week in the colder months. this Charbroil owes me nothing. Save the aggravation and go to Ace !

Those piezo electric ignitors do go south. I had to replace one on my Weber after a few years, albeit yours seems to have failed very early.
So IF it's clean, critical, there's a new battery in there, AND you know the button system is clean an making contact, get on the horn with CharBroil, although I bet you can find a replacement on Amazon for a few bucks...

I tried a lighter, everything works fine. I'm not going crazy trying to fix this stupid igniter.
