Gentlemen,
I have "unwatched" every thread I have been the least bit involved with to avoid all the emails and will be "off the net" until the 25th.

Two nights in a Rome hotel followed by 7 more nights aboard the Viking Sky visiting Florence, Pisa, Monaco, Nice, Avignon, Montpellier and Tarragona, Spain. The ship is only 5 years afloat and holds just 900 passengers. No casino, no children, and no stupid umbrella drinks. The guides on the shore excursions are superb. This is our third cruise with Viking, the others being Seine and Rhine river cruises with just 200 passengers each. Not sure what the future holds but Viking will be our first choice again. Italy only required masking on public busses. Nowhere else. Nowhere were we asked for our proof of vaccination. While in Rome we visited the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and of course the Colosseum and Palantine Hill. the second day we hit the Vatican, with SWMBO seeing the Pieta for the first time since it was at the 1964 Worlds Fair.

Really was. We were originally going with four friends, who backed out when the china virus postponed the originally scheduled cruise. We decided to go on our own, not willing to lose the travel insurance money and more, and also feeling we weren't exactly getting any younger. (Those steps at the Colosseum have at least 12' risers LOL !!)

Dear Traveler,
As we continue to celebrate our 25th anniversary year, I am writing today with excellent news. The results of *Condé Nast Traveler*’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards have just been announced, and Viking was voted the **#1 Ocean Line** and the **#1 River Line**...***again***. This is the second year in a row we have achieved such an honor, and it would not have been possible without you.
Viking is also rated #1 for both rivers and oceans by *Travel + Leisure*; no other cruise line has simultaneously earned #1 in its categories from both publications.
We are incredibly proud to have received these awards, as they are an accumulation of all the hard work, dedication and passion every single member of the Viking family has put in throughout our history. They are also particularly meaningful because they are voted for by you, our valued guests.
These first 25 years have been very good, but I believe we are just getting started. Now it is time for us to work even harder, and we will double-down on what got us here.
***Viking will never try to be all things to everyone.*** We provide an intimate, small ship experience for the curious, intelligent and engaged traveler who values enrichment over extravagance.
***We promise you travel experiences created for The Thinking PersonSM.*** Over the past 25 years we have built everlasting relationships with local communities, which help us take you to the heart of your destination’s culture—and we will keep searching for more meaningful experiences, helping you create big memories from small moments.
***Your Viking home will always be a spacious, elegant, state-of-the-art ship*** that embodies the best of Scandinavian design.
***No casinos, children or umbrella drinks on board.*** Instead, you will find an atmosphere that is serene and refined.
***Enjoy Viking Inclusive Value.*** Our pricing includes everything you need—and nothing you do not.
Thank you to the readers of *Condé Nast Traveler* for naming us #1 for both oceans and rivers. They say when you reach the top, there is only one way to go. At Viking, we say that way is *onwards*.
We look forward to welcoming you back on board soon.
Sincerely,
