If all goes as planned I will be closing on a new sled this coming week.
I want to update the electronics on the boat and have been considering between Garmin & Simrad.
Your thoughts?

hey Matty. mike Zullo here. good luck with the purchase. hope all goes well. as you know the kind of fishing I like to do my electronics mean everything. when upgrading the electronics on my current boat I had the same dilemma. I went with all Garmin and I have no regrets. feel free to reach out if you want and I will give you my reasoning. again good luck (im sure you picked out a good boat!)

Hey Mike, thank you!!! I’d very much to speak with you. I’m closing on a 2004 28’ Albin this week.Plenty of good advice on your electronics package so I have nothing more to offer here.
However, I know you will be absolutely thrilled with the Albin. That is the exact hull I have been running since I bought her new in late 2003. I have the flush deck model with a hard top but soft drop curtains in the rear of the house. That gave me the option to add 2 jump seats behind the helm which cannot be done with the full bulkheaded version.
I have been running it as a 6 pack since the day I bought it and could not be happier. Rides real soft in any sea, has the cockpit of a much larger vessel, and the Yanmar 315 is a perfect powerplant for this hull. Just the right combination of reasonable speed with good fuel economy.
If you have any questions going forward, please feel free to reach out.
Best of luck with your new "fishing machine"!!!

My search started about a year ago. I was initially looking for a flush deck but ended up with a mid engine, hard top, soft back. There were trade offs for each, but the mid engines are more plentiful so hence much easier to find one. After traveling up and down the east coast from MA to Fl I finally I found one here in NY.
Thanks for the offer on fielding some questions I may have some!!!

While I’m fishing down here in FL this week, EMMA is back at Al Grover’s having her bottom medium blasted, barrier coated, and painted.Plenty of time to fish FL this winter.
Hopefully I pick up a kt or two..
You need to hurry back up north and christen that beautiful vessel with some Tog!! Only 10 days until it's "game on" in the Sound and 14 days for the South shore crew!!
