It's been years since I have seen this amount of sandeels around. We immediately came on a huge school of striped bass, with some big ones mixed in. Anyone familiar knows that when they're keyed in on sandeels they don't want anything else. I dug out a few small deadly dick's and it was games on. No slots, but it lasted a while. Then to fluke. Countless fish with too many in the 18-inch class to count. Not one keeper.
I'm thinking the fish should stick around a while.

Rumor has it that there are mackerel off of Pt. Jeff!!! That's another "blast from the pass for LI Sound!!!That would be a surprise.
I went today and had similar results. I did find a body of bass thatbvcovered acres. Slurping everywhere. Birds diving, the whole deal! They were destroying sandeels. Managed a few but I was surprised by how hard they were to trick.
Normally a blitz like that produces a of strikes. But these fish didn't want to know anything other than sandeels.
