Looking to add two pieces of pipe that would come off of the radar arch and go vertically down to the gunnels. Each should be able to accommodate 3 rod holders. I believe the existing radar arch is SS. I would not be adverse to making a completely new radar arch out of polished aluminum that would incorporate the vertical additions.

Off topic, but is that the engine box in the cockpit?Yes, the 28’ Albin’s were made in 2 basic configurations. A flush deck model, Captain Mike runs that one, and a mid engine model that has a motor box.
The flush deck model has the motor more forward, and lower in the hull and uses a traditional rear mounted gearbox. The mid engine model, has the motor further aft as the name implies. Because of that in order to get the shaft, and ultimately the wheel at the proper angle through the hull, that motor sits “backwards” in the hull and utilizes a reverse gearbox which is mounted forward on the motor.
Both have their pro and cons. I was in the market for a flush deck model, but I believe they made fewer of those, so accordingly there were less on the market, so I “settled” on the mid engine after an extensive search.

One of the best in the business is Fred Schoenstein from North Fork Welding in Greenport. Two years ago, the "professional" Captain on the 40" Hinckley docked across from me lost control and took out my port side bow rail while I was sitting in my slip!
Fred and his team did an excellent job with the replacement. They do all the biggest names including some of the work on Billy Joel's Alexa.
Problem is your location. While they do take on jobs all over the island it might depend on whether or not they have something coming up in Freeport that fits your time frame. If it works out for you NFW are top shelf. Might be worth a call.
