Pardon my cynicism but the last people I want to download an App from are the folks at the NYDEC and their totally unrealistic regulations.

How wonderful that they're going to make it easier for me to get to a body of water and fish for something I am not allowed to retain!🤢

even before this "add-on" it was a helpful app for those that did not memorize every little reg about every single species, lake, county, etc. For most of us not suffering a disease like POTUS, it was unnecessary but for the forgetful or the newbies it was and is pretty comprehensive.

As I tried to express in my post, this was kind of my own visceral reaction to a government agency that seems to have little interest in actually conserving our fisheries for the benefit of everyone.

Of course, you are correct, Pequa by noting there are helpful bits of information found on the site. In point of fact almost any time turn on the VHF radio in a short period of time you will hear someone asking what the size, bag, or seasonal limit of a given species!
