1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the noreaster.com Services. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services for a business or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these Terms. Provide accurate information, safeguard your account, and notify us of unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Community and contributor content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant noreaster.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and promote that content solely to operate and improve the Services and carry out your publishing instructions. You confirm that you have the necessary rights and that content is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Do not submit illegal, deceptive, infringing, harassing, dangerous, malicious, privacy-invasive, or spam content. Do not publish private fishing locations or personal data without authorization. We may moderate, restrict, or remove content and accounts to protect the community or comply with law.

4. Connected Meta publishing

If you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram professional account after this optional feature becomes available, you confirm that you are authorized to manage it. noreaster.com may use granted permissions only to show eligible assets, prepare a preview, publish content you expressly approve, read the resulting post status, and troubleshoot the integration. You remain responsible for the content, audience, and compliance of each publication.

Once the optional feature is available, you may disconnect Meta at any time. Meta's own terms will also apply. We may pause the integration if authorization expires, a platform rule changes, or continued use could harm users or the Services.

5. Fishing, marine, weather, and regulatory information

Information is educational and may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. It is not a substitute for official NOAA, Coast Guard, state agency, navigation, weather, safety, or legal sources. Conditions change quickly. You are solely responsible for trip decisions, vessel operation, safety equipment, and compliance with current regulations.

6. Intellectual property

The Services, design, software, branding, and original noreaster.com materials are protected by law. These Terms do not grant permission to copy our branding, scrape restricted areas, bypass access controls, or use the Services to train or operate a competing dataset without written authorization.

7. Service availability and beta features

Beta features may change, fail, or be discontinued. We may modify or suspend Services for maintenance, security, legal, or operational reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted availability.

8. Disclaimer and limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. noreaster.com is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data or profits, or decisions made from fishing, weather, marine, or regulatory information.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, security risk, legal requirements, or harm to the community. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination will survive.
