Came outta Jones Inlet this morning to find a gorgeous ocean waiting for me! So I pushed forward to some local wrecks, reefs and rockpiles to find some summer flatties before its all over. Found some good ones with the biggest goin 7.15lbs! Also had plenty of short sea bass and plenty of small bonito. I used bucktails with a teaser tipped with bluefish strips and gulp. Get em while theyre still here!

Nice doormat, I've been fishing the Jones Inlet area for 50 plus years on a regular basis and never caught a Fluke more than 4 pounds. Caught my only Doormat out in Montauk in the early 1970's that weighed 9 1/2 pounds.
Is there still a fleet of boats fishing for Fluke near the Tankers ? Heard there were Loads of Bluefin Tuna 5 miles south of the Hempstead Reef , if I get enough courage up I might go out there by myself and troll for Tuna.
