How is that Kayak when the tide is running fast? You ever consider getting a Jet Ski to fish ? You'd cover a lot more ground, fish the inlet as well.

No stiff current in backbay, “4” at most. Could care less about the inlet and outside. Don’t miss the stinkboat at all. You have to consider that at 72 i had stinkboats half my life. No more. A jet ski. LOL ! I had paddled back to the ramp, cleaned the fish and was swimming in my pool by 1130.
