Heading down to FL next month and meeting up with friends one day for an offshore charter. I think it's bottom fishing for grouper and mangrove snapper. Never fished in Florida so no idea what to expect.
Since I'm a lefty, I'm gonna pack my LH Shimano Ocea Jigger 1501... however, i don't want to check in a rod on the plane etc.... Was thinking I can buy an inexpensive rod at Cabela's/BPS/local tackle shop for the single trip and ship it back to me (or donate to friend) when I'm done...
Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Thanks for the input everyone -- sounds like i'm using the boat's rods...
Would've liked an excuse to buy another rod 🙂

I always liked bringing my stuff with me wherever I traveled but the airlines now with all these fees make it unreasonable for a short trip.
