Got out Saturday with a couple of pals. Wanted to try for fluke and cbass along the slopes by 11b. Motored out of the inlet, got her on plane and cruised for a few minutes when suddenly the SB side motor changed pitch, started to vibrate and shudder and lost rpm, so I back off quickly and she stalled. Pulled the cover to assess the damage, didn’t see anything wrong, so I keyed it on quick and she turned over but was not happy at all. Shut her right down, and changed plans.
Limped around on one motor and anchored up for the incoming at 50 ft and chunked it up. It was pretty quiet for an hour but once that sun got low, the chunks got hit. We had a few run offs and empty hooks, but eventually managed two keepers for my guests.
Sunday morning revealed the damage.
How or why…who knows, but there is a large hole in the block and a crack in th power head. So I am currently on the hunt for a 200 HPDI. Hopefully I can find one and salvage the tog season, otherwise I will roll the dice and fish close to home on one motor.

Sorry to see this report about your SB motor Drew, looks like you thru a rod.
Hope you can find a replacement, still you got back safely.

That's a kick in the nu..!!
Great way to salvage a trip and catch fish!!

No worries, if things don't work out and you need to stay local just let me know. We'll get you away from home a few times. As long as you bring that orange suit that makes tog jump into my boat you are always welcome!
