Went out yesterday morning with my son searching for mahi and bonito. We came outta Jones and headed south. We hit a bunch of pots with no luck, then we set up a troll and headed southwest towards some pieces of bottom. Nothing on the troll but came across something large floating and we stopped to fish it. There was nonstop action on the rudderfish (jack family). Saw the mahi come thru several times but couldn’t get them to bight. We kept a bunch for the table as they are supposed to be delicious. Hit up a piece on the way home and jigged up some nice sea bass. Good day on a beautiful ocean!

Good job.that could be!, we looked them up online and it looks alot like a banded rudderfish. Either way it was great fishing!
Don't want to open a can of worms but that looks like a Yellow Jack.
I caught a few in FL and they are very good to eat.
