Wow, this is a multivariable question, and your forgot to add time of day, tidal conditions, light conditions, water temp, and a bunch of other things that impact fishing.

The answer to these questions is the reason we fish, to continue to learn. The day that you claim you know it all, is the day that you've stopped fishing!!

in all honesty to the question....on the rare occasion I'm not catching lol! The first thing I look at is if others (if any) on the boat are catching or other boats around me are catching....if yes change it up...if not get outta town

IN my case, if I am using a presentation that has caught fish in the past, My first consideration is to move. Last year I went on my friends boat on the south shore. The fishing reports mentioned they were catching Weakfish in a certain area, I we set out....nothing. I also didn't see any other boat catching weakfish (or anything else. So we moved. Nobody was fishing this area. 5 min later I had a weakfish and my friend had one too.
