Hunting Hours

I’ve been reading DEC is looking into two proposals, one being what they are calling a holiday hunt which would extend the late bow/muzzleloader, the second is changing the hunting hours to half hour before sunrise and half hour after, there definitely are some mixed feelings on this one.

IMHO ? Changing the hours ? Definitely would chance another "accident" or "forced inheritance" by changing the hunting hours, especially without requiring blaze orange. Darwin would rule. Definitely OK with the bow extension but muzzleloaders are not what they used to be, with their range, accuracy and vastly increased reliability.

I’m not even a hunter but took a look at a friends new muzzleloader not exactly a Brown Bess.

I can say this hunting up at our place this year I heard 3 shots before legal shooting time, just because you see doesn’t make it ok to shoot, my take is the only thing changing the hours just makes all those guys breaking the law legal, I do believe it puts people in more danger
