Those are a lot of flags.

White Marlin Invade the Hudson Canyon

Many other boats posted big numbers during the incredible bite, including Canyon Lady with 53 white marlin on an overnight trip; Fishaholic, 30 whites on an overnighter; Silver Lining, 58 on a triple overnighter; and Singularis, 28 white marlin on a day trip. It was definitely the bite of the year.

Inquiring for local sportfishers who cater to split charters for overnighters to the canyon.
Thanks in advance

I remember boats catching 2 -3 white Marlin about 10 miles off Fire Island in the early 1980's.Maybe this is a good sign.

I don't know much about off shore fishing, but fished with a buddy in the early 80's who said that the Gulf stream brought warm water close to Shinnecock for a two week period in early August, if I remember. During that time we did fish for & catch White Marlin.

I used to catch them within sight of Block Island during the first two weeks in July.

I had one in my slick swimming around the boat at the 20 fathom curve.

I’ve been told that there was a very viable White Marlin fishery many years ago in and around the 20 fathom curve. Im not sure how true this is, but I have heard a popular way to fish for them back then, was to drag a short length of untwisted hemp rope as a lure. There was no hook in the hemp, but rather the bill from the fish would get entangled in the hemp strands. Not legal by IGFA regulations.
