Thread — Noreaster

Today's party of 5 wound up with 9 keepers by culling through what must have been 50 or so shorts. Plenty of action but it's a struggle to get consistently large fish. The fish were biting and countless many were just about 1/4" under legal size. What struck me the last few trips which others may have noticed are that the short fish are incredibly fat. Any experienced fisherman can pretty much tell that he has a keeper as he reels it in. We were fooled many times by these fish that were close to legal size but very fat and strong. Maybe that weight can turn to length next year. One can only wish.
