Expensive smokes you didn’t like and why

In the interest of full disclosure I’m very very picky, and most cigars no matter the price or exclusivity don’t make the grade with me.

This 50.00 retail stick was well constructed and the wrapper was nicer than a lot of the current Fuente offerings
Most of which disappoint me these days
Sadly
The Draw was lacking
It required frequent touch ups with the lighter
The ash was a bit flyaway and the flavor profile started decent
Grew to ok then quickly turned to crap in the last 3rd, you’d have almost thought I smoked it fast and it got hot , it turned so quickly.
Problem being it took me over an hour and 20 minutes to get to the last third only drawing every minute or so

Yeah, those Big Sticks need a lot of atttention and if they dont get it, they don’t burn well.

I would have to say some of the Carrillo cigars have pricey tags on them and they also do not burn well.
Another cigar that needs to be in high Humidity and then neeeds to sit out a few hours before lighting.

Never liked carillo

that smoke was only a double robusto maybe 5.75 by 50
Not at all a big cigar

Maybe a little heavier ring than my usually exclusivo
And that hardly ever requires a re touch

I don’t hold to the bigger cigars require more attention theory

I’ve smoked my share of 52 x 6 and well constructed well rolled properly aged ( by the producer ) cigars burn well with little attention

poorly constructed cigars in any size dont

it’s the reason I stick with pardon
Never a dud
Rarely a poorly rolled or constructed cigar
And his Tabbaco is always properly aged prior to rolling

most consistent cigar on the market
For just that reason

I’ve had some great smokes
from all over At prices per stick that would make ppls atm shrink and pockets grow to their ankels
But none as consistent in quality as his

I agree 100% on being consistent
But I also smoke Rockey Patel, some Don Pepin, Illusione
And I have a few La Gloria Cubana wavells from when they were still made
in Miami

I had smoked the Rocky Patel 1990 for a while
I’ve tried some of his others
But over all the quality isn’t consistent
La Gloria has never been a favorite of mine more based on flavor profile

I’ll try almost anything but always have my two padrons on hans just in case
