Interesting article today. Granted lakes/ponds are "closed" ecosystems, but the news of C&R mortality's impact on striper populations is tarnishing the halo on some of those unlike me who practice "Fillet and Release" of legal caught fish...
Why catch-and-release is killing, not conserving, Maine fisheries
C&R can do more harm than good...

Good article Mr. Fish killer !!. ๐ That really is what's happening because of our quest to "Help" Mother nature. What we really are doing buy trying to save the Spotted owl, the Wolves the Giant Bluefin Tuna and many more is thinking we Know what is happening to those species and in reality we can only sit around and brainstorm about what we as learned stewards of the whole Earth Think should be done to correct what we Think the biomass of such species Should be.
Lets just "Think about that for a moment."
Ok now let's go KILL some fish!! ๐

Don't know about you, but this story had me rolling my eyes. Why waste time and money removing a tumor from a baby loon??? Let Mother Nature take its course, oh but loons are so wonderful, which they are, but this shows misplaced human intentions.
Baby loon, saved from a tumor, reunited with parents at Oakland lake
