Headed out Friday morning ( today) , east wind , incoming tide. Thought about that old saying - Least from the East , Best from the West and thought the Fluke fishing wouldn't be good today. Launched at Wantagh Park and headed down past the 2nd and 3rd Wantagh , didn't see much activity. Continued down to the Meadowbrook Bridge and there was 20 boats , 2 charter boats, drifting on the Southeast side of the bridge and the fishing was excellent. I figure 15 fish by myself over 3 hours, most were 15-17 inch's, no keepers. Didn't have squid, so I used White bucktails , one teaser bucktail and one on the bottom and used freshwater smelt. Fluke loved the smelt, you just have to hook them behind the gill and they stay on the hook pretty good. A lot of birds diving.
