NH teen catches 177 lb. halibut

Congratulations to the kid. I think he may have an uphill climb if he is seeking an I.G. F.A. Record. I couldn’t tell from any of the footage in that video but your fishing rod is no allowed to touch the rail on the boat. State rules may be different.

Penn international. Aluminum reel seat and butt....... that's a heavy outfit for a kid. I'm sure at some point the rod was on the rail. Hopefully the record holds up.

Record or not. Great catch that will be remembered his entire life. That’s what counts.
