This reminds me of the James Joseph
I heard stories about the that Captain, which included shooting at other boats. Not sure how much I heard it true. I also heard some guys found him later and let their feeling known. You never know how much is true and what was from someones imagination.

The charter boat captain at the center of the video that went viral this week has been arrested and charged by Punta Gorda Police.
Under Fla. law he was arrested & charged with Burglary, assault or battery.
U.S. Coast Guard is also conducting an investigation
Under Fla. "Stand Your Ground " law he could have been shot as soon as he got on the young mans' boat.

He was being assaulted with nowhere to retreat except overboard. Florida gives rights to victims unlike newyorkistanI believe NY follows Castle Law. Where if you are in say your bedroom and an intruder comes in you can shot since you have no egress

I believe NY follows Castle Law. Where if you are in say your bedroom and an intruder comes in you can shot since you have no egressYes quite true. But Florida and other red states take victims rights a step further. And in newyorkistan you will still get a ride in the back seat and go through your 401k defending yourself after terminating a violent asshat.
That said, I am still in the “two to the torso and third in the face” if my home gets invaded.

Wow. Being a long time resident of Florida, the guy that boarded the boat is very lucky. So many people carry in Florida. It's a fine line when you are carrying a loaded weapon in a vehicle. The weapon cannot be readily available but it can be in a proper holster that closes. The victim gave the assailant all the warning that was needed and the video backs him up. The Captain was lucky, his boat's next charter could have been spreading his ashes.

In Florida, yes if someone invaded your space in a threatening manner & you are in fear of harm yes. Florida calls it the Stand Your Ground lawThat's correct. You don't have to attempt to flee. You don't even have to back up. You can "stand your ground" and fire. But, you better be right and with the video this kid had, it might have cost some money for a lawyer but he would probably gotten off. But, this kid sounded like he was under 21 and you can only have a concealed weapon over 21 or if you were in the military or a veteran and you must be over 18.

Hard for anyone who is reflecting on this to say what they would have done, easy for me to say he would have been wearing my gaff, but in reality I think as he was stepping onto my boat, a little blip of the throttle & he would have been swimming
