Got out this morning in search of another cobia outta Jones and we fished the pods and after only a few drifts through them we nailed this beauty! Great eating fish, can’t wait to have it! Water temp was 74. Great fighting fish. View attachment 66029

yes still working! My son works alot at Baypark Fishing Station so we dont get out much together. the fluking has been decent in the ocean but ALOTTA shorts!hope all is well my friend!

Congrats. Definately a hell of a fighter. I've caught a couple in the Chesapeake in the last season or two....
What's the keeped size in NY waters? 50" here.

They use 2 oz. bucktails down South for Cobia, they cast out and reel back in sharply jigging the bucktail. Wonder if it would work up here ? I have a bunch of frozen bunker, you think they'd take dead bunker floating down ?

I doubt they would take dead frozen bunker. Just find the pods and snag a fresh one!
