The weather is getting cold. I will try this weekend, and maybe next week. But then I may hang it up for the season.

Usually try & harass the blackfish till after Thanksgiving, this year I have some medical things going on, I’m 78, so I’m done for the season

I have 3 more trips booked for this month. Saturday out of Montauk, Sunday going local and then Nov 29th out of Montauk. Hoping the wind dies down for some days.

I’m done with beach & bulkhead fishing; mentally getting ready for drive to Florida, thanksgiving Saturday …
getting older and more sensitive to cold… cell…

My body said (and the doctor) said "NO", so next year it will be.

And plans to fish the Gulf of America with a friend this early winter are probably not realistic either.

I look forward to the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mostly comm. Tog and sea bass fishing with a friend. Since cod is closed I'll hang em up after Christmas.

Wind machine has been relentless this fall. Hopefully that changes......

Gentleman!

No sad faces. It was an injury, NOT a life altering or life taking disease. I am blessed with a prognosis of a full recovery!

I've got 2 more attempts at blackfishing with Capt. Mike coming up in the next week. So far I'm 0-for-3 thanks to the wind.

My boat stays in till early December.
Thanksgiving weekend is always good fishing, then it comes to a screeching halt.
Last trip is 12/8 out of Newport.

Brutally windy fall and only 1 charter run for November so far. Looks like I will get in
Saturday. Long range forecast actually looks good for middle of next week so if it is even close to the prediction I will run as many consecutive days as the weather allows.

I too typically go until the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. It will be a miracle if I get any trips in during that time frame the way the wind has been blowing this year!

Good luck and stay safe to all those who can get out.

Congrats on what appeared to be a very good season for you John.
Enjoy the Holidays, rest up, stay healthy, and come back strong next spring. Looking forward to seeing you out there again come May!

Thanks Capt Mike, It was a very good season, a little disappointed with the bass fishing in the fall, but I guess that's fishing. The boat I I will both be up & running at full strength by spring. Winter well.
