Sunscreen

What's your favorite sunscreen for out on the boat? I'm 70+ and before the Covid Vaccine, I never used sunscreen. I have one of those skins that the sun never really affected. Zero damage in all the years of heavy exposure. After the Covid, I'm very sensitive to getting exposed even for a half an hour. Anyone else notice this?

I am the same age and I use a UV shirt. I purchased two, one loose, one tight. The loose one feels hot in the sun. The tight one, believe it or not, feels cooler. I think it evaporates sweat better.

I would still put sunscreen on your neck. I use any brand and go more by the SPF rating.

Thanks guys. I also bought some of the UV hoodies and plan to give them a try. I think I'm also going to go with the Snapper recommended hat.The front brim is nice because it's stiff and doesn't flop in your eyes. I've used it all last summer and fishing in Key West. No issues

anyway, daytime fishing with bait on the beach, I never used sunscreen as i would think the odor would contaminate the bait in anyway…
my early years , without a hat and shirt was the norm, age and sunspots on face are the results… later on, long sleeve and hat was standard…
but , I did notice in Florida, the strong sunlight has therapeutic healing effects on joints and muscles .. ( believe me ) … so F the shirt & sunscreen, not the hat… Dermatology test every spring are negative… cell…

just an FYI from a former QA guy who was in the industry - don't reuse last year's sun block - SPF begins to declaine after 8 months & pretty havles its stated value after a year - start fresh each season
Good to know. Thanks.
Although the SPF 50 I've been using for a couple of years now still seems to work. Although down to 25 is still a decent SPF.
Any truth to the rumor that any SOF over 30 isn't really possible?

Here's my lineup.Got them both now. Went on Amazon and could not believe how cheap and nice the SPF50 performance hoodies were. I ordered three and love them. They were only $13 each when you buy three. First set the arms were too short in X-large so I sent them back. Bought another brand and the sleeve length is perfect and cover some of the top my hand but does not get in the way. They look so good, you almost don't want to wear them where they might get stained but at the price, they are cheaper than tee shirts. Couple them with the hat Snapprhead recommended and my sun exposure is greatly reduced.
Just add bucket hat and sun shirt......
