Took advantage of the dry and crisp weather over the weekend to split the mountain of wood I accumulated over the fall. Got to a point that I have enough on hand that once a stack of split wood is burned, I can replenish the stack for next next year.
Who else out there burns wood to heat the house?

I'm pretty sure we went through this before when I semi mocked you for buying wood but what are you paying for a cord down there?

That's the way to go if you don't have a splitter.

At $125 a cord for 1 or 2 a year, that's a no brainer(y) For the amount I burn and what it would cost around here, I choose split my own. When i'm out there busting my hump, I kind of look at it as my lifetime gym membership:oops::p

At camp we split and stack about four cords at a time. One guy feeds, one guy works the hydraulics and one guy , sometimes two, stacks. We also have a crew bucking and bringing the wood to the splitter Many hands make quick work.

Anytime your crew needs some practice, send them my way! There will be plenty of cold beer in the garage fridge!
